Every Russian living in Russia eats on average 52 pounds of this salad a year.

Boil for 25 minutes 3 potatoes, 2 carrots, 5 eggs.

Cut in small pieces grilled chicken breast,(this one is rather rare in a past, but becomes more common)

(can be replaced with the cocked meat, the cubes of ham, and even with cubes of any sausage.)

Add two cans of peas, mayo, black pepper.

Cut 4-5 pickles, mix everything and taste.

If it needs salt add instead another pickle.

Potato Salad (Salat "Oliv'e")

• 1 medium size potato
• 1 medium size carrot
• 2 hard-boiled eggs
• 2 small cucumbers or half of a large one
• 1 small to medium yellow onion
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 8 oz. canned green peas
• 8 oz. canned black petite olives
• 2/3 cup of ham or beef (not hamburger meat)
• 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
• Salt, black pepper according to taste

Boil potato in the jacket, carrot with the skin on, cool off, peel. Cut potato, carrot, cucmber, eggs, ham (or beef) and onion in small cubes. Cut garlic very finely. Mix together. When adding canned peas and olives make sure to drain them first. The juice from the can can make your salad soggy. Stir everything together and add mayonnaise. Makes 4-6 servings.

Europe's energy security relies heavily on Russia's gas and oil pipeline network. Almost all existing pipelines head west, feeding Europe's thirst for energy.

Neighbouring countries that 'host' the pipelines generally get to keep some, but Russia has asked some of them - most notably Ukraine - to pay global market prices, triggering angry responses.

It is now building a major new pipeline across the Baltic Sea, which will bypass transit countries and provide direct access to the EU.

Relations between the two ex-Soviet neighbours have been strained since the 2004 Orange Revolution in Ukraine led to the election of a pro-Western government in Kiev. Ukraine's efforts to join NATO and its support for the former Soviet republic of Georgia in its war with Russia in August has angered the Kremlin.

Gazprom's Mr. Medvedev claimed the United States has encouraged Ukraine's defiance in the gas dispute.

“It looks like they are dancing under the music that is orchestrated not in Ukraine,” he said Tuesday.

Russia still will not send natural gas to Ukraine for domestic consumption until the deadlock is resolved over what Ukraine should pay for Russian gas in 2009 and what Russia should pay for using Ukraine's pipelines.

Ukraine last year paid $179.50 (U.S.) per 1,000 cubic metres of gas. Russia wants Ukraine to pay market price for gas, which is about the $450 that European customers pay. The latest round of price talks ended  without result.

Russia has  plans for prospective gas pipelines under the Baltic and the Black Sea that would bypass Ukraine. But EU officials say the crisis should encourage a search for independent energy sources and supply routes, such as the U.S.-backed Nabucco pipeline

via Turkey that would carry Caspian energy to Europe and circumvent Russia

And this other American controlled

pipeline will carry $3-5

trillion in

oil and natural gas from the Caspian Sea basin via  Turkmenistan, Afghanistan,

and Pakistan,  where ships docked in Arabian Sea ports will then carry that

 fuel to Europe and energy hungry Asia.

First, dear reader, let us face the reality that Ukraine is unusual nation in all but name. At its very heart, Ukraine is two absolutely opposing sides welded together in an unholy union. The east is of the same basic culture as Russia and a Ukrainian language which is basically Russian, both entities share a united history going back 1,200 years and the same religion, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Patriarch. Both are heavily industrialized with the majority of the people urban dwellers.



This is the exact opposite in western Ukraine, where the culture has been shaped by Poland, Lithuania and Austro-Hungary for 600 of the past 1,200 years. The religion is Roman Catholicism not Eastern Orthodoxy and the Ukrainian is more a dialect of Polish, though do not mention that to a Ukrainian nationalist (who are vastly from the west). Equally the area is little developed, poor in resources and industry and mostly dispersed in rural settings.



So at its very core, the two are absolutely different nations, the East looking towards Moscow and the West towards the Anglo-Marxists.



But a failed state was not always in the cards of Ukraine. Kuchma had managed to hold both sides together and through basic political neutrality between Russia and the Anglo-Marxists and EU and with economic closeness to Russia, bestowed on Ukraine the highest growth rate in all of Europe, at 13% in 2004. Of course that all changed when the Anglo-Marxists were able to put their puppets: Yushenko and Timoshenko on the thrones. The purpose of these appointments was to pull Ukraine from Russia and permanently cripple Russia, not to make Ukrainian life better.



The two Oranges, along with their Uno-Unsa allies, have done everything possible to tear the nation apart. From forcing Ukrainian down everyone's throats, to sucking out resources from the East to feed the West, to destroying a bustling economy with onerous socialist taxes, regulations and market caps. They have even tried to destroy the Orthodox Church by creating a heretical branch directly under Yushenko's control with a "patriarch" recognized by none, whose mission is to forcefully confiscate Church property he has no rights to. Of course, the gas wars on the Anglo-Marxist command and the EU lawsuits that followed, such as the present one, do not help anyone but their masters.



So Ukraine, whose currency is down 80%, who has the highest bond spreads, second only to now defaulted Ecuador, who lost 28.9% of its exports just in Nov 08 and whose economy is set to shrink at least 10% in 2009 is a failed state on many levels. Economy, Ukraine will more than likely default on its debts, even with the $16.5 billion in IMF funding. Socially, it is two absolutely opposite societies that despise each other and politically, it is a bunch of squabbling hens trying to peck each other to death and utilizing the pain of their own people as nothing more but additional propaganda.



So what are the possible outcomes?



1. Ukraine Muddles Through, Anglo-Marxists put in New Puppets.

In this scenario, Ukraine's economy deteriorates but does not collapse completely. The Anglo-Marxists will once again pour in vast sums of money behind one leader or another whom they will make popular, at least for a time. The "old" new regime will be replaced by a "new" new regime and more grandiose promises will be made. The people, desperate for hope, will go along with this and thus things will stay the same. Likelihood: low.



2. Ukraine Muddles Through, Political Quagmire

In this scenario, Ukraine's economy deteriorates but does not collapse completely. The Anglo-Marxist vassals loose most of their power, but no one side holds any kind of monopoly. The economy continues to slide down, political infighting continues and the masses just try to survive. Likelihood: high



3. Ukraine Collapses, Total Failed State

In this scenario, the government defaults completely, remaining investment flees, unemployment skyrockets and a full economic depression sets in. The federal politicians in Kiev are ignored and power devolves to local politicians, strongmen, the mafia and the military. Violence sky rockets and millions of refugees head to Russia and Belarus. More than likely, Russia, Belarus, Romania and Poland would set up zones of control just across the border to protect their own nations. Some level of actual combat will erupt in many different zones as local powers play out power grabs. This could last for years. Likelihood: some what high.



4. Ukraine Splits, Peacefully

In this scenario, the government and economy collapses, but the two distinct halves maintain control of their respective parts. Best of all, they decide to split peacefully. The East will become a satellite of Russia with open borders and trade. The economy will begin to flourish again. Whether it becomes absorbed into Russia or not, will be determined at a much later date but for all effects and purposes, Kieven Rus will be almost fully restored. The West will become a steward of the EU and will probably get absorbed by NATO, though it will bring little to either organization but will pull cash from the cash strapped for decades to come. Likelihood: very high



5. Ukraine Splits, Civil War

In this scenario, the government and economy collapses, but the two distinct halves maintain control of their respective parts. However, there is no peace. Both sides start shooting to get control of Kiev and power. The war will drag out and escalate very quickly up and down the Dnepr region and will more than likely draw in Moldova and Transdniestr. Again, regional neighbors will probably set up zones of control and will support financially and militarily one side or the other. Volunteers will flood in by the tens of thousands. Likelihood: high



Though it is not absolutely clear, at this point, where Ukraine will be, what is clear is who is to blame. It is not the Anglo-Marxist lead banking collapse, that just exasperated the already untenable situation. It is the very staged elections that brought the Anglo-Marxist vassals to power in 2004.

INTERBELLUM PROJECT

Wonder what is in common between this five guys,dressed in the painfully recognizable red shirts with the CCCP logo?

This is not happening on the territory of Russian Federation for starters.Nobody will do it here, even out of the nostalgia.

Who are this people?

The first from the right maybe known from his "Romin Stone" exstravaganza, that can be find on the Internet and yes, on the audio cassettes (if anyone still remember).

This is Roman Kim.If he keeps his promises and will release more of his "strangely melancholic" and sounding "out of any time frame or style" recognition , but musically interesting songs, we will come back to him later with a special interview.

Young fellow next to him is Timi - TIMUR SHANGAREEV-straightforward optimist and quite an attraction for the female crowd (If you don't buy it?- check record of his girl friends on "odnokashniki" )He is potentially a front man, just more songs should come out of his testosterone-driven brain.

Most remarkable, (from "ethnographical" point of view is a man on a front,not only he is undebatable leader, who ,by the way came out with the name "Interbellum" (for "dummies" - meaning of the world is - "peaceful rest between the wars".)Most "pragmatic" of all members VALERIY POTCHEKAILOV gives impression of a very "down to earth" person, who hiding behind Cynicism , but sensual lyrics of his songs in Russian, 

Flemish or English , just show opposite.

He is also  honest and reliable.

 The biggest fear is, that he us committed to  many things, so making a choice to

concentrate on music only will be a hard one.

The next (from the left) is "mysterious"  Dima - very talented bass player, who discovered his ability just week before concert, because, like it's often happen, there were nobody to play bass guitar.Knowing how rare bass players are ,we can only wish him a brilliant future.

And last, but not least -

Kirill Pokrovsky on piano, saxophone and accordion and no synthesizers, as a conscious choice . We don't have to introduce this

ex "Aria" and "Master" keyboard guru.

So what is so special about the band, who opened a heavy -metal festival and got more applause that all the rest?

They claim to be a first "acoustic punk-metal" band.

They started the performance with infamous JFK speech (the last one, before he was killed)

The have no shame.

They sing in different languages.

The "music veterans" bringing the experience, while youngsters the "bullet proved" ignorant energy.

They are definitely"postmodern", because they don't care about "styles" and mix a folk with a rock and even an avant guard.

They play on acoustic instruments so heavy, that the strings get de tuned after a few chords.

They joke, that the drummer has died during rehearsal and many trust it.

But most of all.They all live in Flanders Belgium.They all born in USSR.

THIS IS ONLY COMPLETELY RUSSIAN BAND FROM ABROAD that attracted our attention lately.

The bondage of our wills is not what we find offensive. An evolutionist readily accepts the fact that his/her will is bound by their instincts and their learned abilities. They believe we got to where we are by natural selection. To them, the human will is more free today than it was 1 million years ago because it has evolved. In a similar way, we accept that a carnivore's will is bound so that it only desires to eat meat. The point where our un-free will becomes offensive to us is when we realize that it is restrained by 1) a sovereign God, and 2) our sinful natures. An all-controlling God is appalling to us. We want complete control. Our sinful nature is also grotesque. We want to believe we are evolving to a higher level, not degrading in our own sinfulness.
